Psoriasis: new frontiers

The Skin Health Institute is proud to bring you part two of our 5-part series, providing an opportunity for GPs and GP registrars to upskill in the examination, diagnosis and management of psoriasis.

Co-hosted and facilitated by Dr. Anneliese Willems FRACGP, and consultant dermatologists, Assoc. Prof. Alvin Chong FACD And Dr. Aaron Robinson.

This workshop will seek to provide an overview of how to overcome diagnostic and clinical challenges associated with psoriasis presentation, and assist General Practitioners in optimising psoriasis management. The workshop will be presented virtually with an interactive vignette-based presentation. The workshop will provide hands-on techniques for the general practitioner managing psoriasis independently, as well as explore how to optimise the General Practitioner’s vital role within the psoriasis multidisciplinary team.

Topics covered include:

1. Aetiology and pathophysiology of psoriasis

2. The diverse clinical presentations of psoriasis

3. Assessing for disease severity and comorbidity

4. Managing psoriasis: From topical treatment to biologic therapy

After this session, attendees should be able to:
  1. Recognise psoriasis according to severity and subtype
  2. Describe comorbidities often associated with psoriasis
  3. Outline management options for psoriasis according to disease severity
