Spotlight on Acne & Rosacea – Clinical pearls for general practitioners
The Skin Health Institute is proud to bring you part three of our 5-part series, providing an opportunity for GPs and GP registrars to upskill in the examination, diagnosis and management of inflammatory skin disorders.
Acne and rosacea comprise very common general practice presentations in Australia. Ranging from mild to very extensive disease, they can carry a heavy psychological burden for sufferers and present challenges, in both diagnosis and subsequent management, for their treating clinicians.
This workshop will provide attendees with an in-depth overview of both conditions. Diagnosis, with a particular emphasis on complex cases, will be explored. There will be a discussion of management options for both conditions according to disease severity. Residual acne scarring and its management options will also be addressed.
Topics covered include:
Acne:
- Aetiology and pathophysiology
- Assessment, examination and differentials
- Management principles according to disease severity
- Managing of acne complications including scarring
Rosacea
- Aetiology and pathophysiology
- Clinical manifestations and subtypes
- Differential diagnoses
- Overview of treatment options
Case-based examples for diagnosis and management of both conditions
