Workshop on Psoriasis: Biologic Agents in Dermatology & Selecting Biologics and Switching
Join A/Prof Peter Foley, Dr Sarah Hannam and Dr Rebecca Nguyen as they answer all your questions on the Psoriasis Back to Basics Program: Modules 4 & 5.
This highly interactive 60-minute workshop will include case studies and discussions on the afore-mentioned modules, so you are highly encouraged to complete Modules 4 & 5 in order to get the most out of this workshop.
A/Prof Peter Foley starts off module 4 with a discussion on biologic agents that are currently available for the management of chronic plaque psoriasis. He starts with an overview of biologic therapies, and then continues to talk about tumour necrosis factor (TNF) antagonists.
Dr Sarah Hannam then takes over discussing the interleukin 17 (IL 17) antagonists, before Dr Rebecca Nguyen completes this module by providing an overview of the interleukin 23 (IL 23) antagonists.
In module 5, A/Prof Peter Foley first discusses how to switch from one biologic to another. He starts with a discussion on why switching would be a consideration and evaluates the safety concerns. Advice on how to switch between various biologics is then presented, before he moves on to expertly give an insight into the thought processes involved and factors to be considered when choosing a biologic treatment.
