Occupational Dermatology Clinic

Clinic Overview

The Occupational Dermatology Clinic is a patch testing clinic specialising in the assessment of workers with suspected occupational dermatitis.

Referrals are accepted from dermatologists, allergists, occupational health and safety personnel and general practitioners, although patients may be contacted to see if the referral is appropriate.

The clinic is staffed by dermatologists who also have an interest in research in this area and who are also part of the Occupational Dermatology Research and Education Centre (ODREC), a small research group which has been based at the Institute for over 20 years and recognised internationally. Associate Professor Rosemary Nixon AM is the only person with Australian qualifications in both dermatology and occupational medicine.
