Grenz rays are a form of soft x-rays that share properties with ultra-violet light radiation and are used to treat a number of skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP) and pre-malignant skin changes such as solar keratoses. They are of particular benefit for the treatment of very scaly skin conditions of the palms and soles.
The Institute provides both superficial x-ray therapy and Grenz rays therapy. These treatments can be used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions including most skin cancers.
Both superficial x-ray therapy and Grenz ray therapy are delivered through superficial x-ray machines. These therapies are planned and delivered by our dedicated radiation therapist.
