Grenz Rays are a special form of soft x-rays that share properties with ultra-violet light radiation and are used to treat a number of skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis and pre-malignant skin changes such as solar keratoses. They are of particular benefit for the treatment of very scaly skin conditions of the palms and soles.
The Institute provides both superficial x-ray therapy and Grenz ray therapy. These treatments can be used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions including most skin cancers.
Both superficial x-ray therapy and Grenz ray therapy are delivered through superficial x-ray machines. These therapies are planned and delivered by our dedicated radiation therapists.
Who can refer?
Patients are referred by GPs, dermatologists in private practice, public hospitals and through internal referrals from the Skin Health Institute.
