Online Biologics Masterclasses


In September, the Skin Health Institute and Novartis teamed up to run a four-part masterclass series, hosted by A/Prof Peter Foley and featuring a range of specialists as guest speakers. These interactive webinars, for dermatologists, dermatology registrars and dermatology nurses, gave atendees the opportunity to have their questions answered by two highly regarded specialists.

A/PROF PETER FOLEY

Associate Professor, Department of Medicine (Dermatology), The University of Melbourne

Associate Professor Peter Foley is a clinical dermatologist, and has a wealth of experience in dermatology particularly in the treatment of psoriasis. He is a visiting dermatologist at the Photobiology, Phototherapy and Biologics Clinics at St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, and the Phototherapy and Biologics Clinics at the Skin Health Institute.

A/Prof Chris Baker is a clinical dermatologist based in Melbourne and practicing general dermatology with interests in advanced psoriasis therapies, photodermatology, phototherapy, skin cancer and clinical trials.  He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  He has served as terms as chief examiner and dean of education of the ACD.

DR REBECCA NGUYEN

Dr Rebecca Nguyen is a consultant dermatologist in private practice and holds appointments at Monash Health and the Skin Health Institute. Dr Nguyen was awarded in 2013 the President’s Medal for Pharmacology and in 2016, the Founder’s Medal for Procedural Dermatology.

Dr Nguyen's areas of interest include eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, hyperhidrosis, skin cancer management and women’s dermatology.

clinical a/prof kurt gebauer 

Clinical Associate Professor Kurt Gebauer has practised dermatology for over 20 years in Australia and is a well-known authority on dermatological conditions. 

Formerly the Head of the Department of Dermatology at Fremantle Hospital, Dr Gebauer has a busy private practice and lectures locally and internationally.

SUE ANDERSON RN

Sue Anderson is a Clinical Nurse Consultant working at the Skin Health Institute, St Vincent’s Hospital and Austin Hospital in Melbourne. She has been working for over 11 years in the specialist clinics for dermatology biologics. In her role as a biologics nurse, she assists patients to navigate their treatment options working with the medical team and her nursing colleagues and provides support and education to her patients.
